2027 Cap Blue:

5 SSSAS (their demise may have been exaggerated)
3 SR
3 Potomac
2 GC
1 SJC
1 Bullis
1 HC
1 Visi
1 HA
1 PVI
1 AS
1 Maret!
1 St John Paul

And PP's point stands re other clubs. See eg 2027s from M&D Black and/or Hero's Green who will have leading roles at SR (maybe POY), GC, SJC, and Visi. And Cap Orange at SJC, PVI, and Visi.

Visitation has a whopping 5 CB players on it’s varsity team? That does not look good for their prospects next year. I thought that was the big Cap Blue school?

Yes, it used to be 5 or more Capital (B&O) each year at Visi. Visi and NCS are switching places.

Was not counting orange. Blue are the impact players. Also, NCS may beat Visi but they are going to have a rude welcome next tear to AA ball.

Plenty or orange players that are impact players. thats an ass comment. Give me the top 5 orange players over some of the bottom blue players any day. Many times they are equal if not better players. I have seen it at each year.

Not who you were responding to, but at ‘28 and ‘29, the Orange pickings are quite slim.

I don't know about '28 but that's not true for '29. It was a very competitive tryout and there are a bunch of players that could have made either team.

"Counting Cap Blue players and pretending that tells you who’s good is pretty dumb. The gap between the top kids and the bottom kids is huge, and this “analysis” completely ignores that. It also leaves out M&D Black, Hero’s Green, and Skywalkers Blue, so it’s basically worthless."

Agree that this is a pretty worthless analysis. The only point that resonates with me is the one on the dilution of the Capital talent pool. Responders have clarified that the top athletes from GC and SR are going North to Baltimore type clubs. Also, strange that Saints kids are not playing for Blue as Saints is the host HS for capital. If Capital is now a NCS, Holy Child and SJC club, it suggests a big shift and probably not for the good for Capital. You saw a hint of the sub-standard commitments at the bottom part of the 27 class and the overall Capital rankings have shifted down a standard deviation. It may no longer be the Capital of recent years. Otherwise not a helpful "analysis."

Just because it was competitive does not mean that ‘29 Orange is any good. ‘29 Blue also left some of their best players at M&D DC.

U mad bro? Did the recent run of negative posters notice that other, more helpful posters, already augmented the Cap Blue breakdown, by noting other clubs contributing at ISL and WCAC schools to round out the discussion. Not the OP, but I appreciated the effort. You may think it was worthless, but if you reread your own contribution, you may come to a similar conclusion.

And some '29 Orange players picked Capital over M&D DC. I was responding to the comment about the '29 Orange pickings being slim. That's different than saying that the '29 Orange as a team is great. Frankly M&D DC isn't a great team either. Point is there is a lot of '29 talent across all three teams.

Put all 3 together and they still lose to the top MD teams.

That’s profound.

Capital is going to decline because they are going to filled with mostly kids from BLC due to the affiliation. Kids now a days stay with a program through high school. DCE on the boys side started dying because kids were not leaving Next Level to join in high school. BLC was getting their players poached because kids were not expected to stay through high school. Eventually Capital will cease to exist and it will just be BLC similar to DCE.

Sorry but this is a horrible take. As long as they keep getting girls recruited which is their sole goal they will be fine

Capital is a miserable program. They have a good track record for recruiting but hearing Capital parents complain about authoritarian ways of the program is starting to really turn people off. Oh, and I think M&D DC sucks too. DC area kids and families deserve better than these two programs.

Sorry your daughter wont make the team. It's because she is bad at lacrosse.

We had a kid play for Capital and had a great experience. Our daughter is headed to an ivy

She was going to the Ivy League either way. However congrats

Capital club experience is not great. They need to evolve with the times. Some of the coaches are very good.

That said, they are the best option, by far, in the DC area, and recruiting results and reputation sustain that. Lots of coaches will be on the sidelines for them this summer.

If you are a 2030 looking at being a top 5 player on Cap Blue, you can likely make an M&D or Hero's team, but you will probably not be top 5 there... Trade offs. Plus, if you live on the Virginia side, rough commute.
