Probably the best way to increase your salary is to keep moving from job to job, whether in same organization or a new one.

It's good to jump periodically, but when you do there's a risk the new job isn't a good fit and you need to leave. If this happens when you are over 40, age discrimination kicks in.

If you have not yet had kids and want to (particularly if a woman), I'd also be thoughtful about leaving an organization for another.

The post about switching jobs was right, ask for big raises, but spend your time looking for other positions. Problem is that at your age you should be starting to settle down, not start over every couple years.

What job pays that much in bonuses?
