Strawberry picking or something else fun to do

Anonymous
Not sure if any are open on Mondays. Look for farms closer to you and follow their web page or social media for opening days / times. My kids enjoy picking strawberries, but they also like them eating the strawberries they bring, and the farm usually has either strawberry ice cream or short cakes, feeding animals, so can be a fun short outing.

Friend of mine with a preschooler was at Butlers today strawberry picking and said the crop is not good this season. The several days of rain ruined it apparently.

Okay, okay, you’ve all convinced me against strawberry picking. We enjoyed picking apples (although not at Butlers Orchard), so I just assumed we’d like picking strawberries!

I'll never forget being excited to go strawberry picking during the pandemic because we just wanted any activity to get out of the house. The whole family was cracking up 10 minutes in because we realized it was miserable. It's a funny family memory now, but yeah, it is the worst.

Strawberry picking is not fun. It's hot and sweaty and you get dirt all over yourself. I used to spend a few weeks every summer at a family farm and picking any kind of berry was miserable.

But they taste so good!

That is why God invented grocery stores or roadside fruit and vegetable stands.

Squatting for an hour, inverted, in the blazing full sun isn’t fun
