| Does anyone know of any farms open for strawberry picking tomorrow (Monday)? Also open to any other fun suggestions for something outdoors tomorrow for a young child out of school! |
| Go to the zoo. |
| Posted too soon. The new baby elephant is really cute! |
| Tick problem is so bad, I don't know if you should take kids out on the field. |
| Strawberry picking is pretty miserable. It’s hot, the sun beating down, and you are crouched. I vote zoo |

Strawberry picking is for people willing to do unpleasant things in order to get photos that will look cute in IG. Don't engage in this. Your kids don't care and would probably be happy just hanging with neighborhood friends at the playground. |

Ok you’ve convinced me no strawberry picking!
DC is getting over an illness so still trying to avoid others but feeling good enough we want to get out. Zoo might be a good option! |
| Wow you guys are grumps. When my kids were little I loved taking them strawberry picking! They woke up early so we would be out there before it was too hot. It’s only 61 degrees now, it’ll be perfect at 9am if you get out there by then. |
| Blueberry picking is a lot more fun. No bending over. Ha ha. |
| Interesting how when I was growing up, my dad would MAKE me and my brothers and sisters go picking blue berries (which we called huckleberries) or "swampers" (much larger blueberries that thrived in swampier conditions). This was absolutely MISERABLE! We couldn't stop until we filled our extra large coffee containers. Then they would make muffins, pies, or we'd even sell some extra to neighbors. I would never PAY someone to allow me to pick blueberries. Too many bad memories. |
| I am of the same mind as PP! Why am I paying for the privilege of harvesting my own food? I remember going blueberry picking to get enough for a blueberry pie and it was brutal. I would wish we would just buy a carton from the store. |
| It’s tedious enough picking blueberries off my own bushes at home. Why would I go pay someone to do this? 🤣 |
Strawberry picking is not fun. It's hot and sweaty and you get dirt all over yourself. I used to spend a few weeks every summer at a family farm and picking any kind of berry was miserable. |
But they taste so good! |
