Do I Need to Save More for Retirement?

Behind what? What do you think you're going to be doing in retirement at 75, 85, 90+ years old?

Behind saving. Most likely paying someone 100k+ per year in today’s money to help me.

We have similar to you but without the $250K brokerage. I estimate in 16 years, when we're 60, we will have $5M in our retirement accounts, which will just keep growing. Plus pension plus SS.

I think you can cut back and buy yourself a new car, then ramp up savings again.

You save because you can't tell the future. Do you know when you are going to die?

I have a pretty good idea about how long I can possibly live, yes.

That's not good enough for retirement planning. Come on PP.

You sound very far behind to me. Sorry. I would save more.

This is just a stupid response. The OP is ahead of the retirement benchmarks for age and income. Stop being an idiot

I'd like to know what OP means by "easing off." Like how frugal are they being? Do they eat ramen every night? Sure, at that income they can afford to buy new cars, but a used car is fine too.

It's one thing if she means "keep maxing our retirement accounts, but start spending the money we would have plowed into our brokerage" vs "let's stop saving for retirement and spend all our income."
