Springbrook has an IB program that is marginal as well. If a school has a bad principal, as is the case with Springbrook, it's hard for academic progress to be made.

US News and World Report does school rankings to generate revenue. I would never use its rankings for anything - its methodology is weak.

Is there even a US News and World Report magazine anymore?

Why do you feel the IB program at Springbrook is marginal? The qualifications for graduating with an IB diploma are the same at Springbrook as any other High School that offers the program… in the US and beyond.

Not the PP but check how many students actually receive the IB Diploma. Any student can take classes but taking the exam and getting a passing score is also important.

One of the things that was mentioned in the staff letter last year was that the principal was lying to the district or the state about the number of suspensions at the school. I would not be surprised if other data was misreported.

I don’t know anything about Springbrook, but we’re a happy Northwood family. Dr. Garrick is great (as others have mentioned), and there’s a really nice accepting, community feel to the school.

Northwood has historically had a disproportionate amount of English language learners who bring general test scores down for the school. I am not being negative against the language learners but just stating a fact the system is rigged against them and Northwood.

Do they have more than Springbrook does?

Flora Singer ES has a strong student body, and it will be zoned for Northwood starting Fall 2026.

I didn't make a claim about diploma rates. The person who makes the claim bears responsibility for defending it otherwise I assume it is a false claim.
