I will provide a different take. I don't know that youre going to change any minds wrt title, but I do think you should take the interview and put your best foot forward. It's good exposure and experience and its always good to know what's out there. You also may find you like the opportunity.

Thank you-- I did turn it down. I didnt like the narrative appearing like I was taking a demotion. I am genuinely interested in the company and was disappointed that the recruiter baited me with a sd/avp role when it really was just a sd role. Yes, Im chasing titles. I do know my industry and the scope. Just thought that rising midsize companies might have more flexibility.
