Fun Dublin and Edinburgh hotels for 21 yos

In Dublin, they might like the Trinity College residence halls on campus, which they rent out in the summer and are a deal for the center of Dublin 2. Or the Dean if budget allows. Or there's a Premier Inn on Stephen Street Lower -- close to some of my TCD student's favorite food spots (Doom Slice, Tacos By Agave) and O'Regan's for (non-trad) music. I personally would not have enjoyed Rathmines as a 21-year-old (too suburban).

Abigail’s Hostel in Dublin. Nothing special but great location.

My 21 yr old would book whatever. Most won’t care about a fun hotel. Just look for something central.

In Edinburgh have them visit the Sheep Heid- oldest pub in Scotland with a Skittle alley (bowling). It's great.
