We are already there, the gap is just widening. |
+1. Beginning much like third word nations. The limited upper/uppper middle class and the mammoth lower/working class. Trump widening the gap for sure. |
Oh jeez. Wars are necessary to protect our way of life. You won't understand that until it's threatened. |
Yawn. Not this war |
How so? If Iran were to actually set off a nuclear weapon say in the middle of DC or NYC (and they're fanatical leaders are crazy enough to actually do so), then I guarantee you would be saying (assuming you survived the blast), why didn't our politicians do something to prevent this? Iranian leaders have been chanting "Death to America" and killing Americans since 1979. We finally have a POTUS who is doing something about that. |
** their fanatical leaders.... (Have to get in front of the grammar police due to a typo) |
| Oh please, he’s only interested in personally profiting from the war he pays for with your money. First rule of business: never risk your own money. |

Dc is supposed to be so smart. I never see it. |
| My kids will get their education fully paid for - including grad school if they want, and $250k for a down payment on a house. Everything else is up to them. I don’t believe that all the jobs are going away. |
| No. In the USA it’s possible to be comfortable as long as you have an IQ of over around 90 and there is more income and class mobility than almost anywhere else in the world. |
IQ has not much to do with it. It's more about grit and stable mental health (also physical health). Unfortunately physical and mental health in our general population had declined, so did overall culture. People are just not robust, especially younger generations conditioned by electronics and social media. IQ can only get you this far if you don't thrive in corporate culture which had become much worse and cut-throat over the last 3 decades. If you have a high IQ but cannot keep a job or don't have grit to run a business you can easily end up on skid row and on drugs, unless you have parents to rescue you and provide that proverbial basement bedroom. |
Taxes don't pay for war. Inflation pays for war |
So that's it; your family will cease to exist? |
| In my lifetime, Iran seems very bad for its own people but pretty rational/reasonable as a state actor. |
