So odd police did’t release yet the identity of the person killed (if he was a guest at Marriott I am sure the hotel has an ID on file so should be easy to find the next of kin) and an identikit of the shooter (likely every business and building in the area has cameras)

Who was the victim?

As a lifelong MoCo resident, I’m observing a rather uptick in violent crime. It’s very disturbing.

Domestic violence can happen anywhere. It transcends race, socioeconomics, age, etc.

But drug crime or other criminal activity…well, let’s just say there’s a certain element that heretofore wasn’t widely present in MoCo.

I have a theory that this is a love triangle. The guy who was killed was with the other guys wife/girlfriend in the hotel and he was waiting for him to leave and shot him as he left.

What is your actual experience with any of this so called crime wave? I think you just read the news too much and see people day to day that you judge as criminals without any actual knowledge. I know for a fact that you didn’t live here during the 80’s because crime was much worse in this area back then.

Rockville Pike north of Strathmore Metro is not demonstrably different than Annandale along Columbia Pike in terms of the squalor you see at bus stops and intersections. It really has gone down hill since when the Whole Foods was built.

I am not sure I am seeing this, PP. Maybe some bus stops have squalor but overall, the Pike is the Pike. Some strip malls look nicer than others and that has always been the case. How is there squalor at intersections? I only see cars--could you elaborate? If you are referring to panhandlers, there have always been.
