Thoughts on all these AI tools? Should I tell my kid to use them?

Agree. At minimum, you have to run any essay through something like Grammarly now. There is no excuse for grammatical mistakes anymore.

Agreed. I bought my DC one of these AI tools (Kolly) and read through the admitted essays they have. They are the real deal - thought out, polished, yet still felt authentic.

Except that, due to AI, writing itself has become a useless skill.

In another 2 years time, there won't be an original paper written by anyone in school or at work ... teaching a kid how to think critically to write the efficient prompts so you get the document you want to built is where the time will be spent. Might as well start teaching kids to use that part of their brain. How do you teach a kid to critically read and prompt AI? That where school should be focusing their teaching time.
