So...are you going to go to McDonalds and buy someone a burger?

No what's strange is the inability to be happy for someone else.

No what’s strange is dipshits like you don’t know that over 50% of the US population gets nothing or close to nothing from stocks.

According to a Gallup report last year, 62% of Americans own stock. Among those 50 t0 64, it is 72%.

It all sounds good until you realize the value of the dollar has dropped and is dropping.

Oil is being bought and sold in yuan instead of dollars. The US debt is now at 100% of GDP. Let's see what happens next before we celebrate.

Is this English? What does it mean?

"I can see buying a burger at McDonalds today and guy going doing worry I got you covered, I just became a millionaire. Or the Uber Ride is free tonight as driver is saying on the house I am now a millionaire."

All time high here and about to lose my (government contractor) job due to DOGE.

Actually, the guy at McDonald’s will say, ‘sorry, buddy, which I could help you, but the price on beef is up 10-18% and I can barely afford my own simple hamburger along with a courtesy cup of water.’ And the Uber driver would say, ‘sorry, no rides on the house tonight, the price of gas is up 21%.’

We started with QQQ a long time ago, when we didn't have a lot to invest. Sure is nice looking at it now. If you are young, or not well off, instead of declaring that it's hopeless, put something, even if it's small, into a low fee index fund. Do a Roth IRA.

Our goals were modest, we didn't expect to leave much in our estate, just to not be dependent on our kids. But now, who knows?

The average american doesn't own any stocks.

Why down 10% yesterday?

Anonymous wrote:Yes, all time high for us on paper only. We can not withdraw withdraw penalty. It may come down tomorrow. As long as we gain 15% for the year, I am happy. Tomorrow is 1st of May. There are 7 months to go. Anything can happen. At least we are happy tonight .

15% for the year is asking for a lot

Again...here are the facts which support why many people don't care what the stock market does at all because they benefit either 0% or very minimally

- 38% of all people own no stocks at all
- Top 10% of the wealthiest own 87% of the stock market
- Bottom 50% of the population owns 1% of the stock market
- Of the 62% who own stock, most own stock through their 401k. The Median 401k balance for someone aged 55-64 is $95,642 (and that is the highest median balance for any age group that is tracked)
