| Nice dinner + car + remaining balance in 529 deposited in Roth |
The bolded is not really College Graduation Celebration. This is the post college set-up or some sort of wealth transfer. We are taking our family (uncles, aunts, cousins, siblings etc) to a fancy expensive dinner to celebrate the graduations. And that will be all as far as celebration is concerned. DC does not want a graduation party. But, we are paying for deposit and 1st month rent for an apartment in the other coast, professional clothes and gear, setting up the apartment, new sedan, $10K in the bank, 529 in Roth, airfare...for now. |
| Family trip with many younger cousins and his proud aunts /uncles. Kids get to pick the location within reason. |
| How do you put the 529 money into the Roth ? Is there a dollar amount limit ? Is child required to be finished w college to do that ? |
| We’ll go out for a wonderful dinner and gift DC a Rolex with their initials engraved on the back. |
|
| We had a nice dinner and a cake. |

My parents put new tires on my car so I could safely commute to my new job.
For my own child, I hope they are willing to vacation with me one last time, but that's really a gift for me, not them. Their gift is that we paid for their college in full. |
| Nice dinner + a years worth of contributions to start their Roth-IRas. |
| The gift was paying my college tuition. The idea of a vacation as a graduation gift is foreign to me. We only went on one vacation during my entire childhood and that was to a national park. My parents saved pretty much every cent so that I could attend the college of my choice and graduate debt-free. I am forever grateful for that |
| Imho best gift is whatever you can afford + having a healthy relationship in which y'all care for each other. Obviously some can easily afford a Porsche while others would struggle to afford a used Kia but sentiments have similar value. Don't beat yourself up about it, stand proud that you are in his corner with all that you can offer. |

Ultimate gift is a start in life without any debt. |
It is. Sad for you and your graduate. |
|
Nice dinner, new car, and 10k.
I did choose the in state school with a full ride scholarship. They had told me I'd get a new car if I chose that instead of Duke. Zero regrets! |
DP. No not sad. Bachelors degree should be bare minimum as someone said above. Everyone in extended family has gone on to graduate or professional school and some have multiple graduate degrees. |
