Girls trip but nobody is a planner

These are impossible to plan and either low-grade annoyances or high-grade drama ensues on the execution. Just not worth it IMO.

Are you sure they really want to go? I kind of say that about girls trip when it comes up because I don't particularly want to go, but I don't want to be the first one to say "yeah no." I feel like if people really want to go, they will be more proactive.

I did a girls trip recently and one person did take the lead and planned it 14 months out. She said, this weekend is good for me and we should go here. everyone else agreed and before we knew it 14 months had passed and we went and had a great time. It sounds really far in the future but it did work.

I'm the planner in my friend group. If I don't do it, it probably won't happen. I no longer care to play cruise director, and I've decided to stop offering.

It's true. Though now that I'm in my 40s I make sure to do a better job of initiating social plans. I don't have forever...

+1, there will always be a flaker or two, which I'm fine with if it's a dinner party but not when there are shared costs for things that needed to be booked ahead. I just don't do this kind of stuff anymore, or book things where we're responsible for our own reservations and payments.

I actually don't mind being the planner. But you need to pick a weekend and the location. Sometimes picking the wknd is the hardest part.

This happened to me with trying to get together with my 3 other college roommates for the longest time. The other 3 were all not sending days available etc. and I gave up and at one point I was talking to one of the others - and I said - I am tired of suggesting dates and no one responding so I've given up trying to plan something but if the rest of you can get it together and figure things out - we can go! Eventually the rest of them pulled it together and we had a great weekend in Charleston, SC and I recommend that location for a girls trip.

I agree this is the hardest part! I also like to plan the travel bits, but getting everyone on the same page and commiting to dates is the hardest part.
