Girls trip but nobody is a planner

"We should go!" yeah yeah yeah ok well someone has to make it actually happen and it sucks to be that person

Sounds like no one actually wants to go. I am not a planner, but when I want to go on a trip. I plan it. I do not like going on girls' trips, so I wouldn't plan one.

Say the quiet part out loud—who is going to take in the task of planning? If no one steps up, then you have your answer.

We hired a travel agent to present three all-inclusive options and then chose. Best $250 (split four ways) we ever spent.

I don’t love AIs but they work great for group trips.

You have to pay for a travel agent now???

Go for an all inclusive or a cruise - everything is "done".

No one in the group actually wants the trip to happen, and that's OK. I've never done a group girls' trip, but I've traveled with friends 1:1 before.

I'd just leave it be unless you really want one, then yeah, the planning is mostly on you.

Is everyone local? Spread out across the state or country?

This is what I say when I don't care if it doesn't happen. Many times I don't care if it happens but also I'm happy to go. If you care, make it happen. That's how trips get planned.

In theory, this stuff sounds fun, but the reality is always impossible (logistics, time off from work, leaving kids, paying for XYZ, splitting the costs, agreeing on destination/lodging, etc).

I have several friends who I love but who have situations that make it hard to plan in advance. I’ve found in recent years that it works best when I just make a plan for me and tell them if they want to join I’d love it. For example—I have to go to Raleigh for work soon and told my friends I’d stay the weekend if they wanted to join me and sent them the hotel information. They’ve made reservations. No fuss and I know we’ll have fun.

Cruise or all-inclusive

PP here and I should have clarified - we had her book flights and do a few other things. You’re right that simply booking a cruise or an AI would have been free to us.

And this is why everyone shows up for that one friend who plans the stuff but thinks nobody likes them because nobody initiates calls either.

The rest of us really are that lazy.

Everyone complains. They just do, about travel
