Metformin for weight loss

Anonymous
Metformin helped me lose the first ten pounds. Then weightloss stalled (I do work out, track, etc). It didn't hurt.

Then I went to GLP compound

the "prediabetic" range.

Going on metformin with 5.6 (I assume) A1C seems odd, since it is designed to lower your glucose/A1C levels. Is there no concern about LOW blood sugar if you start metformin?

Have you tried anything else to lose weight - diet and exercise/lifestyle changes? - or is this the first step? How much weight do you need to lose?

You did not gain back any of the weight you lost?

how about the person tries the medicine as suggested and see how it goes. why go straight to lying?

I have a very good A1C levels (like 5.2, sometimes lower), but have insulin resistance with fasting glucose levels in the high 90s. I had gained 10 pounds, and with metformin I lost it with no effort.

I take 1g at the beginning of dinner and have no side effects.

I asked my endocrinologist and she said there’s no concern of too low glucose levels on metformin.
