The wrong was replacing her Dyson with another brand.

Nope - Miele far superior, not sure what OPs problem is. Best vacuum I've ever owned

Nah.

Miele might have better marketing, but dysons are far superior to mieles

You have this entirely backwards. Miele doesn't market nearly as much as Dyson and is the superior product. Guess we have different needs, but extremely happy with ours to the point I actually recommend it and I don't do that for any other household item.

I love my entry level Miele, 25 years and going strong. It has outlasted several dysons and sharks

Np. How old is it? The issue is that many formerly good brands are now cheaping out

Exactly. An old Miele. New ones are not nearly as good

Can we get back to OP's issue cleaning the brush head. Is than OP issue or did Miele change the brush heads? My Miele is about 10 years old and it's so easy to open, I just use a coin or a credit card to twist some orange circles and voila the brush roll is able to be popped out.

My Miele is still going strong 2 decades later.
In-laws fell for the Dyson advertising scheme and have gone thru several of them. The dumbest designs and not ergonomic. Heavy to operate.

OP can you tell us the model number of your brush head?
