Longines are lovely but they’re much more entry level than a Rolex. |

Good for you. I love a beautiful time piece, but I wear my enormous smart watch every single day. And...I still dress up for work. Love it! |
I have found quite the opposite in my group. Everyone is ditching the smart watches for luxury watches. It's a flex to be as "disconnected" as possible. |
| Cartier |
Cartier are battery powered pieces of jewelry. Do not buy one for your husband. |
| Apple watch has a lot of utility. Any man with interest in tech, safety or health, would prefer it. If you love someone, you would rather want them to have a smart apple watch if they are facing some emergency instead of a dumb designer watch. |
| My husband (50s, well dressed) has a Breitling and it looks great and works 100% perfectly. |
But won't the Apple watch be obsolete in a few years? I have a perfectly functional (and expensive!) old iPhone SE, but it is useless because Apple stopped updating the operating system. |

To the earlier commenters that recommended Patek Philippe, I say good luck. I have a decent purchase history at a local authorized dealer and have never been offered a Patek to purchase.
For something unique with great history of watchmaking, I’d recommend Jaeger-LeCoultre, Breguet, or step it up to Vacheron. The watch brands I listed are available and represent fantastic watchmaking. |
Use your old flip phone. Get it gold plated. |
| Seiko for the win! |
| Cartier Santos or Santos Dumont |
Can you please explain how this works? Do you buy the watch you want or do you buy the watch they want to sell? What if you don't want that watch? |
What’s up with the scarcity of Patek Phillipe watches (sorry—timepieces). My DH’s favorite client got him one years ago, and it’s really great. I’d planned to get him a different variety for a big anniversary in a couple years. |
