| Almost daily. Love them. |
|
We eat a lot of beans, but more often as a side dish, or an ingredient in a dish with another protein.
As the main part of the meal? Maybe once every few weeks. |
| 3 or 4 times per week, mostly at lunch. DH isn’t a fan of any but lentils. |
|
Probably twice a week on average
DD likes beans and rice a lot. I’ll put them in a bagged salad ( I don’t love rice) I’ve put red beans in a homemade minestrone style soup, i make that about once every 2 weeks. We add black beans to partially drained lentil soup and eat that over potatoes with cheese on top |
|
I try for every day but probably average five days per week. I try to make my lunches bean and veggie based. I add beans where I can in dinners and make bean based dinners regularly.
I love beans and I like how my body feels when I eat them regularly. |
| I’m eating beans right now |
| I try to make a bean dinner every week. My family prefers chick peas and black beans. I’ll make lentil stews in the winter. I add Trader Joe’s lentils to my lunch salads a lot. |
|
A lot.
We eat a lot of Mexican food and will almost always have black or pinto beans. Chickpeas in salads (cold, roasted, etc...). Black bean burgers or veggie burgers. Made a red lentil soup a few weeks ago. Does hummus count? |
| The past month in tying to eat beans in place of meat once a week. |
Same. I want to eat more beans, or more accurately, I want to like beans more. But they just don't hit right as a primary. I love the Alison Roman recipe for chickpea/ coconut milk/ tumeric soup, but I need to add vegetables so that I'm not just chewing my way through a bowl o' beans. Same with all the indian dishes for lentils etc. It has to be like half cauliflower or squash or something. LOVE homemade baked beans... next to a main dish that is not beans. I make black bean burgers and falafel regularly. Both of those are at least half something-other-than-beans. Bread and lettuce and tomato and cheese and onion, in the case of the bean burgers. Herbs and onion and garlic in the case of falafel (I make it from scratch and load up on the not-bean ingredients.) |
| Oh very often. Minimum 4-5x a week. I try to make either lunch or dinner bean/legume based and the other one protein based. Helps me balance protein and fiber goals. I do not eat less than 30g of fiber any day. |
| Never |
| At least 3 times per week. We eat a whole food/plant based diet and they bring a lot of nutritional value. |
| Like so many posters on here, eating them a lot (more lentils / chickpeas though) and needing to spread them out with other things. No bean-packed serving for me. I do fine with broccoli, etc. so mixing them with vegetables is great, or chicken. For bean burgers, adding some water chestnuts and farro in there so they are less bean-intense really helps. |
| Once a week for dinner, and then usually those leftovers are my lunch for 2-3 days. |
