Jeff Cline at Oak View is fantastic.

YMMV but we really like the Eastern MS principal, Ms. Shorts. I know people on DCUM don't think highly of the school outside of the magnet program, but our experience is that the administration in general is very strong.

I did my admin program or worked with so many of these talented administrators. You can always tell the ones who are in it for the kids versus the paycheck.

I always say Dr. Garrick at Northwood when this is asked. I could not imagine going through the s-show that is the relocation without him. Super responsive and helpful.

What does it take for a "bad" principal to leave or get moved out of a school? My child's school has a principal that I've heard nothing but horrible things about all year, and it seems to be the cause of all the teachers leaving last year. I don't want the teachers this year to leave too! My child still has a year left and I'm so scared these teachers will flee because of this principal

Unfortunately I think the only thing principals are evaluated on is test scores. At least that’s how it looks as an employee at the elementary level. Teachers can be miserable and children depressed and acting out but just keep those test scores going up.
