Have you talked to your PCP? I mean it could be a physical issue or a bacterial issue...you need to get tested for a UTI and probably on some Cipro.

Are you in perimenopause now? Frequent UTIs are a symptom, there are meds for it.

Can you please explain further - what kind of strength training causes UTIs? I do reformer pilates and have a much stronger pelvic floor now. I'm confused what you could be doing to weaken it. Thx!

This also worked for me.

I began a strength training regimen and dumbly I neglected to mention in my medical history all this urethral stuff since I thought WHAT COULD IT HAVE TO DO with strength!? Oh, everything. She had me brace my stomach and do Kegels to improve my core. I just blindly followed along, this had been in my rearview...and POOF. I have 24/7 UTI symptoms again, peeing in tiny amounts, tinglign in urethra. I could cry. I feel I have set myself back after years. I am so upset. Just coming here to a supportive community (I hope). If anyone has thoughts would love to hear.

Is there a doctor that can explain how this is even possible? Extremely likely... very very likely to be a coincidence!

Have you tried the cottage cheese remedy?

Did you ever go to the Dad and confirm this is not a UTI? I highly doubt you can get a UTI from weightlifting...unless that is code for something else.

I’m so sorry. Agree with previous posters it might be time to check in with your PFT if you have one.

Over training core and pelvic floor can contribute to interstitial cystitis.

This isn’t your fault. You were feeling strong and trying to do something good for your body. Hang in there.

OP, please look into brain and chronic pain connection. I’ve worked with a practitioner who helped me resolve years of chronic bladder pain/IC. Her specialty is chronic pelvic pain and this is her website: https://www.feeltoheal.live/
