IAD travel TSA delays 3/9?

No delay going through security at National around 6 am this morning. Very fast line through Pre-check. The regular line also seemed short.

Why would returning suck? You don't go through security for a connection.

You do have to go through security if connecting from an international flight.

No way is this true. I haven't connected in a while, but usually you just go through immigration and customs, collect and drop off your bag, and continue to your departure gate. No TSA security (or TSA-like, if in another country). The only exception I've experienced to this is Dublin, which made me leave the secure area to get my ticket from the United desk.
