IAD travel TSA delays 3/9?

A bit later but I'm starting to regret planning going away for Spring break...

Travel direct flight at least to SJO on Sunday morning at 9a out of IAD. How are the security lines?

Returning will suck as we have a connection in the evening through EWR.

We just flew out of IAD last week and had no issues for an international flight. The lines were not long. Customs on the way back was a bit longer bc there’s no Global Entry right now, but still was not terrible.

This doesn't seem relevant given that 3h long lines started today/yesterday.

Has anyone been to IAD the last couple of days? Any report on what security lines (including TSA Precheck) are like?

The DCA and BWI websites give current wait times, but not IAD. Flying out Saturday around noon... trying to gauge how early to arrive. We have TSA Pre and are not checking a bag.

Why would returning suck? You don't go through security for a connection.

DH made it through security and to his gate in under 30 minutes this morning. He does not have pre check.

Something tells me that any airports where Representatives, Senators and other government officials fly out of a ton will magically be spared. IAD and DCA seem like as close to sure bets for decent security lines as anywhere.

Why would returning suck? You don't go through security for a connection.

You do have to go through security if connecting from an international flight.

No wait times at Terminal A screening at 8:00 pm tonight.

I hope those travelling will keep updating this thread daily with how long it took them to get through security at Dulles (and Reagan National). Thank you to those doing so!
