People are regular lost in the system in ice detention. It can take multiple days to figure out where your family member is.

Of course. It's naive to think otherwise. They are hiring any warm body willing to do evil on behalf of this administration. Some of those people are probably criminals who enjoy abusing women and children. Those criminals are benefiting from the corruption and incompetence of this department, who routinely kidnaps women and children, obfuscates their whereabouts from their loved ones, isolates them from medical care, and moves them around the country with little visibility, oversight, or accountability. Of freaking course some of these women and children are being trafficked. The full extent of which we may never know.

I recall in Trump I they lost tons of kids in the system, the kids got shuttled around and nobody knew where they were, ended up fostered and so on, separated from their parents. Shitty systems for tracking detainees (at least as an excuse, anyhow) and that IS their job, yet there are numerous stories about how they are compiling extensive databases and using facial recognition, searching social media and other technologies for tracking and compiling dossiers on protesters, journalists, immigration lawyers, advocacy group members and so on - even though none of that is actually their job or legal jurisdiction.
