Goalkeeping is the problem this year. Faceoff improved.

Except the goalie stats are better this year than they've been in 5 years. I get we are only about 1/2 through the year and better competition is coming. There is more to a team than just stats. Chemistry goes along way to any team's success. Lars letting the older Millon where 9 when another player had it was certainly not a good locker room take.

How are goalie stats better this year? Save % this year is .438. That's terrible. Last year it was .500, year before .514, year before .519.

Me not so good at math or reading columns. Reading wrong line.

Better effort today vs Maryland, but still an L. #9 with no ability to beat his defender. Lars’ chaos style defense still creating opportunities for opposing offenses.

Tough day for Millon is the problem crowd.

A signature win does not change the staffs poor judgement or toxicity of Millon's influence. It feels damn good though. GOHOOS!

Little Millon is better than his big brother. Big brother makes some great plays, but also turns it over and shoots too much. And if they had a NCAA stat for “most shots cleanly saved by the goalie”, big brother would likely be at the top.

Should also note that yesterday’s win may have been more about ND playing badly than UVA doing anything differently or better than usual. UVA’s goalie had a good day, but ND’s shooters hit him in the stick a lot too.

Weirdly apocalyptic take after taking down the #1. A more rational reading is it all depends on how the rest of the season plays out. Right now, they likely dont have a chance to make the brackets unless they win out. If they lose just one or two close ones and still dont make the tourney, i dont think anyone is going anywhere. Break even? Yeah i think change might be on the table.

So then we can expect Millon to take over officiall and give up Team 91?

Ok! Two top 10 wins in a row! That was a great game.

Dammit! If only the Millons were gone! Get rid of them already! A guy on DCUM told me they’re the problem and shellberger is ins an offense with too much chemistry!

Always good to see teams improve and figure things out.

With 2 ACC wins, Lars has bought himself an extension. The Millon hate is ridiculous. UVA still plays incredibly sloppy and undisciplined lacrosse because their coach pays zero attention. The only reason Lars is going to survive is because a young man, who wants to be a special forces medic and chose UVA for nursing school, also happens to be better than all of the goalies Lars has recruited.

Lars is so out of touch that when the goalie requested a meeting and asked if he could have a chance to start, Lars thought he was being too forward and bold. Lars can't help but reveal how clueless he is with every interview. He is the Peter Principle personified.

Don’t know about any of the other stuff but the goalie’s bio is pretty awesome. Love that he showed up on campus for training as a special forces field medic after a career in goal for Air Force and was like “yeah I can do this for UVA” and then goes out and does it. Really impressive young man, must be a helluva leader in the locker room and on the field.

Opinion - if Marek’s goaltending had not improved, UVA would have lost to Notre Dane and Duke, and UVA lax fans would still be melting down and calling for Lars’ job. Good goaltending can hide lots of deficiencies on both sides of the field.

Another opinion - McCabe Millon only took 3 shots vs Duke. I see that as growth and maturity. He locked up Duke’s #1 defender, didn’t force anything, and let his teammates shine. I’ve crushed that kid’s selfishness and poor shooting on here, but have to give him credit where credit is due.
