My kid got one this week! He’s so excited. He almost didn’t apply because the RD acceptance rate is so low. I’m glad he threw his hat into the ring! Now we have to visit- I wasn’t even bothering to nurture any hope until it was a possibility. I’d love to hear from families with kids there now or recently. Is DCUM a good place for that? Facebook (shudder)?

Congratulations to your son. Mine is a current freshman, stem major. He loves it and we have been really impressed and happy as parents. He loves his classes and professors and has no shortage of social life and activities. DCUM is not a great place to get input, there are some crazy haters on here, though there are other Columbia parents. If he can he should go to admitted students day. Check out Columbiasl on instagram (that is the student life page) and the main Columbia page, one will give you a sense of the fun activities/vibe and the other academics and news.
