Would you suspend visits? Sick after visiting grandma?

Ask DS’s doc.

He doesn’t get sick like this when I’m there.

For TWO years?!?

Is it really every time, OP?

It’s probably not, but it’s so frequent that it’s a noticeable pattern, for sure.

Might be dehydration.

Maybe she’s not clean and safe with food prep and it’s a type of food poisoning?

Do they ever eat out together? Does it happen on those days?

The grandparents could have built up resistance to whatever food poisoning your kid is getting.

Does he WANT to go with grandma?

This just seems unlikely statistically unless there is something going on. How often are the visits? Does he get stomach aches/vomit at other regular intervals?

Is she good about handwashing? Is she feeding him?

Id like to think nothing nefarious but jeesh.

But every single time?

FOR TWO YEARS. There is something we're missing here. Does he like her? Does she make him nervous? Is her car filled with norovirus that can only be killed with bleach? Is she feeding him ipecac? What does his pediatrician say?

Something is seriously amiss if this isn't a troll.

She takes him about once a month. He does not get these stomach aches any other time, or, very infrequently and we can always pinpoint the cause (junk food at a birthday party at a trampoline park, etc.) She is feeding him. She says she doesn’t feed him anything out of the ordinary, and he confirms, but who knows.

I wonder if it’s a combination of long day at school + longer evening of stimulation + rich food at a restaurant.

Doe she eat feed him something every time or given him something to drink?

Look up symptoms for stomach/abdominal migraine. It can be triggered by something he's eating there.

How old is your child? Is he a reliable source for what he might be consuming? Could your mother’s house have mold or another allergen? You need to see first hand what is going on. Go with your child.

Sounds like anxiety.stress. Yikes.

If your child feels fine after throwing up, no fever, no other symptoms (except maybe light headedness before puking or headache), it might be this. Usually they sleep a little after as well. Wake up totally fine.

Ok, I just looked this up and this is exactly what he experiences!

What about their visits could be causing this? The article I read said it’s unclear what causes them.

If you want to stop the visits say so but this is crazy.
