2HR DELAY WHYYYYYYY

Absolutely pathetic delay. Reid is so weak and soft

There, there, crankpots. It’s going to be okay. We just had our final weather event of the school year, and it’s hard knowing that you’re losing a reason to rage at the school system.

Try meditation and medication. It’s a wonderful combination. As for finding a new topic to rage about, there’s a treasure trove just outside your bubble.

I have kids in both FCPS and FCCPS - let me tell you it reminds me every day why I moved to FCCPS. Kids actually learn there and attend school. Totally wild concept.

You can't compare the two districts. FCCPS has 2600 kids total and only 5 schools in a very small geographic area. I'm not saying Fairfax made the right call, but using FCCPS as the baseline is illogical.

Someone needs to sue fcps

Actually quite the opposite. She doesn’t give a crap about your whiny entitlement.

I know two families that moved out of FCCPS due to bullying, so no.

FCCP is a total of maybe 5 square miles. FCPS is 407… so there is that and bound to have different calls. Until they can separate/split FCPS for weather events(which they’ve looked at for several years but there are too many across county programs)

Stop complaining. You could be in Prince George’s county where they announced the 2-hour delay yesterday, well before FCPS did.

AND THEN AT 5AM, THEY CHANGED IT TO ON TIME.

What high schooler is checking their email at 5am if they went to bed thinking it was a 2-hour delay?

This is much worse. Thank you for the perspective.

Have your heads about the decline in FCPS? Are you paying attention to all the articles. FCPS is going in the wrong direction. We are out do school again! There is no momentum in learning. No consistency. No reliable schedule.

Your kids think it is a joke. They may not say it, but they do. I’m in the schools often and kids as young as elementary make fun of this ridiculousness.

I wanted to sleep in, but APS didn't call it. Traffic was MUCH lighter than usual at the middle school, so I suspect lots of people made their own 2 hour delay.

I agree in some ways, but think you are barking up the wrong tree. Shouldn’t employers be more lenient toward working parents and people? Capitalism before people isn’t working.

Unfortunately we don’t have that leverage any more. Companies requiring in office just like government.

I don't understand why these counties don't just wait until 5am to make the call. Parents are inconvenienced either way, so I would rather just wait and get it correct.

MCPS parent here. I'm just amazed MCPS made the right call, for once. But as others have said, it's the last weather event of the year.

I think FCPS is horrible but the delay is not the problem.
