Do your love your DC-area vet?

Rock creek Home Vet. Doctors are awesome. You’ll pay a bit more but with that many pets you will love the convenience of them coming to your house to do four check ups in one fell swoop.

I love my vet, Cherrydale Vet in Arlington, VA. Very high quality care (especially Dr Sunny House Timke). The best care, really. I started taking my pets there years ago when I lived in Arlington, and I've moved much farther out, and still take them there even though it's a long drive.

The prices are not lower, they are relatively high, but I believe I have saved thousands in the long run because they are truly dedicated to giving you options and straight talk about what you do need to do and what you don't need to spend. Many times I've been told "We could do this, but it costs X amount, and I don't think it is worth it at this point." I appreciate that soooo much.

Many vet-owned offices still remain -- it isn't "super easy," in fact it is hard. But they still exist. People don't need to "imagine" anything, they exist if you can find them.

My cat almost died because of negligence at palisades vet - I suspect it was to delay the appropriate treatment so I could come back the next day and spend a ton more money to get the treatment I should have received during the first visit. However, they are one of the few clinics in dc that is not corporate owned, so I really do not know what to do.

Been very happy with Park Potomac Vet

Highly recommend Arlington Animal Hospital. It is just off Columbia Pike about a mile past the pentagon. Dr. Jones is the best and so compassionate. The prices are reasonable. We went to Cherrydale for years but the prices were ridiculous. Dr Jones is far more responsive and his staff is great.

I don't love union vet but I am satisfied with them and they are cheaper than many other places. One of their former vets dr. Perry now has perry paws, a mobile vet. She was very good but I am too cheap to pay what she's charging, which is more than union vet.

I was going to recommend Liberty Falls with a caveat. We like the practice and it’s convenient for us but I feel like they’re a bit on the expensive side. We switched from Nebel St after Dr Hambright retired. He always presented all our options without pressure and their prices were less than Liberty Falls. We also had to push back a bit against some recommendations we simply can’t afford.

We miss Dr. Hambright a lot but I cannot recommend Nebel St without him. It seem to be corporate owned and the old vets left.

I love the team at Alpine Vet so much. I wish Dr Sartain could be my doctor.

Bumping! Looking for a new practice in Montgomery County or nearby. Would consider Columbia, Olney, even Frederick. Thank you!

Two Sisters Vets, a mobile vet practice based in Kensington. I cannot say enough good things about them, especially the wonderfully compassionate end of life care they provided my dog. I am not a fan of Dr. Perl.

What don't you like about him? I find him great, but then my dog has been mostly healthy, so we don't see him often.

He was curt and dismissive to the point of being rude the few times I had him come out to look at my ailing dog, who was terrified of cars.
