If the deal is no longer profitable then one must concede that Paramount taking over a media, news, and cultural powerhouse is about something else. CBS makes it look obvious.

Netflix already had a deal. How is this even a thing in business where the WBD board keeps saying no for months to Paramount until it's forced to say yes? This is not how business deals work. It's how the yakuza or cartels force their way on and infiltrate the boards of large corporations in their respective countries.

This needs to be investigated and the next president surely will, on anti-trust alone. Hopefully the next president has some balls (male or females) and tears all this shit down. No dual loyalties.

This deal makes no financial sense whatsoever. Paramount Skydance has a market cap of around $12.3 billion. They are taking on $111 billion of debt to take over WBD. Plus they need to pay Netflix another $2.8 billion to walk away.

They are going to strip HBO, CNN and the other properties down to the bone in the coming months. Mass firings. Canceled development. But even with the Saudi and Emirati money it still won't be enough to save this deal. Both Paramount and WBD will be bankrupt within 5 years.

Netflix is laughing all the way to the bank. This deal crushes their competitors.

But I guess the Ellisons really want to lose their billions on propaganda no one will watch.

Why does anyone care which acquisitions are made by any companies? If you're a stockholder in one of them, you would of course hope the deals will support your initial investment thesis, but otherwise, so what? You don't have to invest in or patronize any of the companies involved. Angst over business activity irrelevant to you is quite bizarre.
