Is this a scam? Accusing someone of touching your car

Anonymous
I wouldn’t deal with this sh**. I would just tell them I’ll call the police and we can discuss it with an officer.

Someone once accused my kid of opening the back door of my jeep into her car. Opened the back door (jeep back doors are short) fully and didn’t come close to her car. No apology but also no further attempt to scam

Just tell them to call the cops, then leave.

They won’t.

OP here. In both cases, I just said "no I didn't touch your car" and I left. One lady was mad about it and the other just shrugged.

I don't understand what they thought was going to happen, even if I had scratched it.

If you scratch someone’s car, you pay to have it fixed!

The real scammers try to get you to hit them with the car. Be careful when going in reverse.

It isn’t a crime or even a Big Bad to touch a car?

Unless I can see immediate damage I would just ignore.

Sounds to me like a scam.
