Sounds like you're reaching for a movie script with the dramatics There are more than enough MLS Next quality players in and around Baltimore for both clubs to easily fill rosters. People will go and stay where they feel more comfortable, if they get accepted |
| Virginia MLS Next parent. Currently, the MD teams which are the best competition in order: Pipeline, Bethesda, Coppermine, BA. Bethesda and Coppermine are probably on par so that order could switch easily. In the short term, this probably boosts Coppermine. Over the long term, MLS Next is becoming just another league, unless they start kicking out or relegating to the second division low performing clubs/teams. So, short term boost to Coppermine which tapers off as MLS Next continues to dilute it's elite positioning. |
Not sure what you mean, I live in Baltimore and my kid played soccer (senior in high school now). Pipeline and BA have far better college placement than Coppermine. Many people don't want to drive an hour on 95 during rush hour to Copperplex or whatever it is called when they can take their kid to an equally good or better team that is half an hour or less away. MIAA A conference soccer is amongst the best leagues in the country and the private school kids all get waivers from BA. Still expected to go to at least one practice a week though, so many prefer Pipeline because they don't practice in September and October. |
| If Coppermine can bring back their 2013 players and coach who left for Pipeline and recruit a couple more players, they will start their first MLS Next season as one of the top U14 teams in the country. |
Nice try ECNL guy |
Top U14 in the country is so funny Talking about 13 and 14 year olds most of who still searching for puberty |
The Pipeline boys 2013 team is currently ranked number one in the country. Why would they downgrade? |
You're surprised that we are discussing a youth soccer team in a youth soccer forum? |
They're number one in the country in ECNL. There is nothing wrong with ECNL. But they are not number 1 in the country. |
because they would upgrade to MLS. That entire team should move back. Pipeline isn't that good. |
Says the Coppermine parent. Pipeline seemingly has a monopoly on boys Maryland gatorade players of the year. |
No, just the "top in the country" or going forward like it means anything |
My DS is older. Never played ECNL and won't. Not because it's bad but because he's nearing the end of his youth soccer journey. I stand by the ranking of clubs I gave from my perspective and will add that Achilles and WV Soccer (it's a joke they call it WV) should be relegated. |
This is one of those things that lets you know someone knows what they are talking about! Thank you for the insight in your previous post. It’s genuinely helpful. |
| Love this rarely seen Baltimore based bickering after so many hours of VA centric posturing. |
