My poodle mix won't eat

DON'T. SPOIL. THE POODLE.

Seriously. Begin as you intend to go on. Set out food and water. Be sure the dog is drinking. It can go a day or two without eating much. Do NOT go down the road of playing "tempt the poodle" unless you're willing to indulge that for life. The dog will eat when it gets hungry enough to eat.

Us too, with the world's first picky eater Golden Retriever. We just cook some ground meat (we rotate between chicken, turkey, bison, lean beef, and lamb) and sprinkle some on over the course of the week. We've tried a million kinds of kibble but she still doesn't love the "favorite" and I don't mind doing a simple topper. We also add salmon oil. Starving her out does eventually work and sometimes that needs to happen when we travel but on the day to do I don't mind making eating a more enjoyable thing.

I had a cockapoo. The poodles are so picky. It will eat when it's hungry and it's probably super stressed right now.

My poodle was very picky. It's just part of their breed. Mine was stylish and we joked that she was watching her figure. She'd go days without eating. She really just wanted ground beef, rice and vegetables and not dog food.

THIS THIS THIS

It will eat when it's hungry. Just leave the food down. My poodle would go through phases of eating only once a day. When she was sick, I'd not even offer food for 24 hours. It will be fine.

This is what my vet said about mine. Said she was a princess. She didn't like her food, but I wasn't about to be a short order cook for her, so when she got hungry enough, she ate.

It's a good condition to have! Most dogs are overweight, so this "only eat when hungry" is much better than the alternative.

I agree.
People are conditioned to overfeed their dogs for some reason.

When we first got our dog ( not a poodle) home he didn’t eat for a day or two, I used fork to smash hard boiled egg and he ate all right away. Our dog hates pumpkin but loves water boiled chicken ( have to remove all the bones), sweet peppers, baby carrots, also sweet potatoes.

Really? I have a standard poodle (not a mix), and he will eat anything. The only food I can think of that he won't eat is carrots. I do cook for him occasionally and top his kibble with meat/veggies and sometimes fruit. But on the days I don't have anything prepared, he will happily eat his plain kibble. Maybe I got lucky.

Mine only gets homemade with cheese. Or, will not eat.
