DON'T. SPOIL. THE POODLE. Seriously. Begin as you intend to go on. Set out food and water. Be sure the dog is drinking. It can go a day or two without eating much. Do NOT go down the road of playing "tempt the poodle" unless you're willing to indulge that for life. The dog will eat when it gets hungry enough to eat.
lol. My mostly poodle doodle is so spoiled. We top his kibble with all kinds of tasty things. No going back!
Us too, with the world's first picky eater Golden Retriever. We just cook some ground meat (we rotate between chicken, turkey, bison, lean beef, and lamb) and sprinkle some on over the course of the week. We've tried a million kinds of kibble but she still doesn't love the "favorite" and I don't mind doing a simple topper. We also add salmon oil. Starving her out does eventually work and sometimes that needs to happen when we travel but on the day to do I don't mind making eating a more enjoyable thing.
