Same! No matter what the future holds, my kids are better off being educated and having had the college experience. It about more than just getting a job. |
+1 liberal arts from a top university is the most protected in the future- even AI experts say so. |
AI is ruining society so there's no point in being an educated person? I don't get it. |
My kid is 9 years from college. What am I supposed to do? Tell her she doesn’t have to go to college? First of all, no one knows what will actually happens with AI. The latest ChatGPT model is kind of a steaming pile of crap. Advances have slowed down. I have a feeling things will even out, similarly to the dot com boom. It’s preposterous to think AI will replace all professional jobs. Some careers will be impacted more than others and it’s impossible to predict where that impact will be. At the end of the day, it’s better to be educated than not. |
how much did those cost you? the haves and have nots distinction will continue to matter, as always.. |

It’s making me uncertain but since there’s no obvious alternative, it isn’t changing our decision making.
If my child were equally torn between entering a trade or going to college I’d advise the trade but that’s not our situation. |
| Fast food is freely available but I still choose to make my own dinner. As for AI, I prefer to continue to use my own brain to think for myself. |

| It gave me pause about paying for private high school. Instead we are keeping our kids in public school and investing that money with the aim of giving it to our kids later. It is making our kids think differently about majors/jobs (one had wanted to do CS but has since switched to engineering - although not sure how much better that is). |

AI is the MLM for tech bros.

Save money on college? Yes. Skip college? No. |
For my younger 8th grader who we also had apply to private school, I am definitely rethinking this |
Nobody's knows. They're all guessing. Health care seems to be pretty AI proof but that has its own challenges. |
