Yes, utterly touristy spot but seriously delicious. The sauce on the perfectly cooked steak is to die for. Worth the waiting in line (no reservations).

So delicious. Definitely worth the wait. Now I’m super hungry.

How much is the steak? I usually don’t order steak when i go out to eat. I’m not the best cook, but can definitely make a good steak at home for a fraction of what restaurants charge. Steak au poivre and steak frites are dishes that are in my wheelhouse and easy enough to make at home.

I havent been in a couple of years but I like Aux Crux de Bourgogne, assuming people in your group might want something else. Very traditional bistro in the 2nd, on a side street. You need a reservation.

We waited in line for something like 2 hours. There were people in line kind of ducking out to go get drinks at a nearby grocery and enjoying them in line.

Since steak and fries are the only thing on the menu, the only real decisions to make are whether you want the steak rare, medium, or done and what you want to drink.

They pile on the fries and aren’t shy with more helpings of meat either. And, as PP said, it's all delicious.

OP here - THANK YOU ALL for the recommendations. Just looking into Le Relais de l'Entrecote, and there are 3 locations - Montparnasse, St Germain des Pres, and Champs Elysees. Each seems to have it's own charm. Is there one in particular you loved? recommend?Thank you!

St Germain is my favorite, but note, the original location is in Porte Maillot. The original family started it and then broke into two. The ones were all referring to is the piece that broke off. Honestly, it's a consistent experience. Go to whichever is convenient.

We were at Champs Elysees. I have no basis for comparison, but that we had a good experience there.

You make your own frites at home? Anything that requires deep-frying is not easy in my book.

NP-Air fryer. Personally do not like greasy fries and they are much better that way.

I will put my steak and sauce- au poivre or L'Entrecôte sauce, up against any restaurant. Where my dish would get points taken off is for my fries. I use frozen shoestring fries. Steak and sauce are the stars. Still, I am sure to make sure the fries are crispy and seasoned and never had any complaints.

Yup, air fryer using frozen fries is great actually, microwave them first to defrost the outside, rough them up in a bowl to get the exterior broken up, then cook in air fryer, super crispy that way.

Le Comptoir du Relais Saint Germain, 9 Carrefour de l'Odéon it is adjacent to Hôtel Relais Saint Germaine. The best steak frites we've had (three years running), charming, and not touristy. It's on the smaller side, but there is both indoor and outdoor seating.

It's absolutely wonderful. Because they do one thing and one thing only, they have perfected the most exquisite steak/sauce/fries. Best steak in Paris.

We went to the St. Germain des Pres as it was close to where we were staying. We actually went twice since my daughter loved it so much.
