Le Relais de l'Entrecote

Yes, utterly touristy spot but seriously delicious. The sauce on the perfectly cooked steak is to die for. Worth the waiting in line (no reservations).

This has been the answer since 2004 for me, and everyone I send there when they visit Paris.

So delicious. Definitely worth the wait. Now I’m super hungry.

Another vote for Le Relais de l'Entrecote. I think it’s one of those places that’s popular because it’s popular. It creates its own momentum.

We waited in line for something like 2 hours. There were people in line kind of ducking out to go get drinks at a nearby grocery and enjoying them in line.

Since steak and fries are the only thing on the menu, the only real decisions to make are whether you want the steak rare, medium, or done and what you want to drink.

They pile on the fries and aren’t shy with more helpings of meat either. And, as PP said, it's all delicious.

Le Severo. It’s incredible. Make a reservation in advance and it helps if you have some French. It is not the place for you if you like a very cooked steak, though - they will not cook it past American medium rare.

And yet, it was not! We were, I am pleased to report, very happy.

Sounds less like France than the US, lol.
