| OH HECK NO!!! WHY would they do this?! GROSS. |
| They closed their warehouse where shopping for deliveries were done. I’ve always done pick up and was talking to the folks at pick up who hate this new arrangement too. All the shopping is done at store now and it’s created such a mess. Please tell giant you hate this change! |
Every time I go to Wegmans, I use the app as my grocery list so I can compare prices. The online ordering is 10-20% higher than shopping in store. So if I'm spending $200 a week on groceries, you are paying closer to $240. It takes me 45 minutes to shop and I get what I want. Worth $40? For me, no. That's how all these apps work. They advertise they are free to use and then jack up the price. |
But that’s same in a lot of stores: Costco delivery (even the 2-day grocery delivery) is more expensive than buying the same item at the warehouse, it was same with giant, delivery price for an item was higher in many cases than store price. |
| This is bs. Lets all complain to giant now. |
Oh definitely, restaurants do this too. It's "free" to order on an app, or free delivery, but instead they jack up the price 10%. If I'm picking up food, I call the restaurant directly to place in my order. more money for them, less money in Silicon Valley. |

Not to be a b but
I like going to grocery store. I feel like going to the grocery store is the last gasp of what remains of the late 20th century. We’re all so isolated. Streaming, Delivery, no civic involvement, I’ll get the groceries and engage |
I'm a PP and I actually agree with you conceptually - we are too isolated. That's why I go to the office two days a week even though it's optional, walk the kids to school, meeting tons of neighbors along the way, have neighborhood moms nights, and am generally a huge generator of in-person community and interaction in my neighborhood. But I have NO CAR and THREE KIDS. I need groceries delivered to my house!! |
Who are you engaging with? The cashier? "Yes I need bags"? |
