Yes 6-12 take the same bus, although seniors often drive so IDK how many actually take the bus. They use hub stops, which I think are within 1.5 miles of everyone. They try to use central locations for bus stops, so some are schools but others are community centers or parks. Kid's pickup is about 40 minutes before school starts. I think the bus ride is about 30 minutes give or take.

Middle schoolers don't have the option to do sports at their home school. So no, they dn't take the same bus, let alone any bus.

I think the question was about regular busing not the sports bus.

HB is definitely more diverse than my kid's home middle school and elementary school in North Arlington. DC has a wonderfully diverse group of friends at HB. Kids of different races, different ethnicities, different national origins. Some of their friends speak different languages. Some have relatives in other countries and travel there on breaks. Kid has been exposed to different cultures - holidays, food, etc. - from their friends. It's been really great.

The bus for kids around nottingham (not at the school, but in the neighborhood) comes around 9am. they get back around 4.

I will add that I'm not totally sure what you mean by diversity, so I'll add that HB is also much more diverse socioeconomically as compared to our N Arlington elementary school. It also seems much more accepting of disability too, and my kid is also friends with several kids with disabilities.

this is all quite refreshing, wasn't a huge fan of the lack of diversity in elementary.

Does your kid actually take the bus to HB or even go there? I highly doubt it because this is just plain wrong. HB starts at 9 am, so there is no way any HB bus comes "around 9 am." They also don't get back around 4, as the school day doesn't even end until 3:50 and then the buses don't leave immediately at 3:50.

If your kid went there, you would know this.

Please stop giving out wrong info when you are totally uninformed, it is the opposite of helpful.

And way less diverse than the neighborhood middle and high schools.

Since the school starts at 9 and ends at 4, this can't be right.

Near the front entrance. I don't do drop off so can't be more specific but DH moves from N. Wash to a neighborhood street about 2 blocks before WL. Drops kid to walk less than 1 block. A LOT of people do this.

also, you get your bus stop info about 2 weeks from when school starts but for HB, they don't "check" like ES. So the way I know about multiple stops is because some body I know (my kid) often misses their assigned stop but there's another, equidistant, that we can easily make. Also, my kid can bring a friend home on bus without problems. Unlike ES

You don’t know what you’re talking about. HB is not so magical that kids are transported instantly from bus stop to/from school at the beginning and end of the school day with no commute time.

My child is picked up at about 8:25 and is dropped off at about 4:20.
