Eddie Bauer -- filed for bankruptcy

Anonymous
Didn’t they do this about 10-15 years ago also? I remember they closed all the retail stores in this area.

I almost never shop at EB mainly because I just never think to check their site, but everything we own from EB (clothes, duffles, jacket) has been good quality and held up as well as LL Bean.

I miss when they had 100% cotton t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts. They used to have more cotton clothes now it's all cheap synthetics.

This. They've really gone downhill. I tried a handful of items over the past few years and sent all back. But I have 100% wool sweaters from many years ago and they've all held up great.

And yes, I've worn it for about 20 of those years (I pull it out on occasion.) It has not been a premium brand for years, though. It turned into cheap made in china stuff you could get anywhere.

I bought parkas this year, and really like them. Do not seem cheap at all.

The Eddie Bauer in the Annapolis Mall closed.

Sam's Club has sold EB due years. Probably not a good sign

True. Such a vague memory now, can't even remember what I owned from them.

Wool sweaters! They were the best. I also had some EB boots in the mid 90s that were amazing. Same for their wool socks.

Their coats really hold up.

I remember carrying their backpacks in middle school in the early 90s. Those backpacks lasted!

Around 1990 or 1991 I got a full-length (mid-calf) black leather coat with detachable quilted lining. After I got mine, I saw Hillary Clinton photographed in one during the New Hampshire primary campaign, lol.
It was my go to work coat in the 90s and 2000s.
It is still beautiful and I still wear it when a parka is too casual, eg dinner downtown.

You can still buy stuff online. Amazon has really hurt these brands.
