1) If I take the time to fill out that dang PCR form each fall, then use it! They didn't honor the authorized names on the list and refused to release my kid to an authorized friend.

2) If you send out a message that says "bus riders will take their normal routes home so parents don't come" then switch at 7:47pm to say "get your kid" - that was unhelpful. So much for not contributing to the standstill traffic.

They will say staff have to get to their own families. Who was to supervise students when staff had to leave to get to their next obligation?

Is there anything that MCPS can do right by MCPS parents?

Very specifically, if you ran the zoo, what would you have done? Either before, during, or after? Post it here and then others can pick apart your plan.

I have a question for Wootton parents who were in this unfortunate situation yesterday.

When my kid was in MCPS (she's now in college), our parent-child reunification form listed alternates our child could be released to. I always added neighbors with kids in the same school, close family friends, etc. I also confirmed it with these people.

Was pickup by non-parents but approved others (who were listed on the MCPS form I had filled out) allowed yesterday?

As I sat watching the massive line of cars yesterday, I was imagining MCPS not allowing the non-alternates to make the pickup, resulting in even longer lines & waits.

I don’t understand the need to transfer the students to Frost at all. Why not just dismiss them from Wootton?
