Thoughts on this Clifton house

That is a tear down. And the commuter traffic is awful. I used to live in Clifton. When you get a snowstorm you're stuck for days. The power goes out a lot during storms due to all the trees. My kids went to Clifton elementary school and that was great but then it was closed. Robinson Secondary is a great school. After our youngest graduated we moved.

Robinson is the MS/HS option now?! Is that like a 40 minute bus ride or car option?

Yes, it's a secondary school and my kids thrived at Robinson. Great school and community. My kids did not mind the long bus ride. They either slept in the am or did homework. Sometimes they chatted with friends. They're adults now and have life long friends from Robinson.

I actually like this at this price -- it is going to be an auction, though, so who knows how it will end up. I'm very curious.

It's on 5 acres and I like this area for anyone willing to be outside the beltway. Obviously, this is only going to be interesting for someone willing to completely redo the house. But at this price for this property, there should be $ room for that before you get to what a well-maintained home in his area on a lot this big would go for.

This house is about 5 miles from Robinson. It’s maybe a 10 minute drive or so.

Ok. 15 minutes. Fairfax Station Rd and 123 to the Exxon even at 7:30 does not take that long.

Why do people on this forum always massively overstate commute durations? Is it all people who actually don’t commute?

This nice house sold for 107k, so I doubt it will go higher than the listing price.

I like it in theory, and it would be awesome remodeled. But definitely been neglected a lot.
