North Carolina or South Carolina for raising kids and attending college

OP is deciding on living on either the NC or SC side of Charlotte. Saying it's worth picking NC because it's cooler is like saying you should choose Bethesda instead of Alexandria because of better weather. Totally irrelevant.

My MAGA cousins just made this move and live in SC. As stated before, NC has a better state college system. UNC CH is obviously the crown jewel, but UNC Wilmington and UNC Asheville are both solid, as is NC State. I have no idea how taxes/services etc. are in either location
