Any news about the new Louis Archer ES principal?

I am concerned that she does not have any elementary experience at all.

I don’t understand why FCPS does not promote Assistant Principals within a school. At LA, the kids and parents are happy. I suspect the new principal will want to change things.

Agree. I think all or at least most of her leadership career has been high school. But they probably had to put her somewhere and there are two high profile incidents that happened during her time in high schools, maybe they think she will do less damage in ES. I always thought of her as an elementary principal. I think she has the personality.

I have nothing to do with Herndon High School. I know nothing about this principal. I do know that I have not read anything about the incident that would reflect poorly on her.

Perhaps, there is information I do not know. But, I don't see how you can blame the principal for the incident. If the email implied a suicide, then, that is on her.

I'm VERY disappointed its not the AP.

The regional superintendents make these decisions and they just do favors for their friends or shuffle them among schools to give them a “fresh start” or promotion. Doing what’s best for the schools is the last thing on their mind.

We're glad to see her go - she was universally disliked at Herndon and deserves her demotion. She's a stubborn know-it-all who will follow bad policy and procedure into the ground just to avoid having to admit she was wrong. Best of luck to the Louise Archer families - you're going to need it.

A lot of APs have no desire to become a principal. They do not want the ultimate responsibility of being a principal and are absolutely fine being career APs.

The AP at Archer has been there a long time. Was she not considered?

How do you know she even wanted the job?

As long as you're staying a principal it's not a demotion just because the kids are younger. The former principal at Justice High became the principal at Spring Hill Elementary for a few years - it was closer to her home and her last gig before she retired.

We are saying demotion because of the salary. An elementary principal gets paid much less than a high school principal...which is why you don't see it often.

She was clearly demoted and got dumped on this poor school and their community.
