I wish I could have gotten my kids to apply to Georgetown. Overlooked by a lot of area kids because it's too close to home. ND also did not hit our radar for various reasons. BC's been great. Can't go wrong. So fortunate to have great choices. |
OP here. Yes I am assuming BC admit for the purposes of this exercise. No she would never have applied to BC ED because she has ND as her first choice. Why would she apply ED to her second or third choice school? She also had the opportunity to apply ED2, but she prefers to take her chances and wait for a potential good outcome with ND. ED is great for students who have a clear frontrunner. That's not the case here. That said, the Scoir scattergram for BC in her school is very strong for RD admits for students with her stats so I think the "assumption" in this case is warranted. |
Thanks...we are praying every day! |

| BC still has quite the Catholic element. They still send out the c21 mags to alumni. |
| Georgetown slappies are overrating their school. As usual. Their insecurity is telling. |
We liked BC's campus and tour a lot more than Georgetown. What is your daughter majoring in? |
+1 Plus no rats in Newton. |

Georgetown and BC are not in the same category as far as reputation and prestige.
Georgetown is the easy choice here. |
I'm sure the Jesuits would beg to differ

Well does she want to be in DC or Boston area?
I guess if she is super pious the charisma of all the other colleges, general cultural ambiance might be lost on her. But Foggy Bottom isn't very charming and Georgetown isn't even Newbury Street. I took summer courses at BC before grad school vbecausecI had never taken economics. I was so jealous of the campus atmosphere. |
| I think it does matter if she wants to be in the Boston area or not because BC has a strong alumni network there. Also I think BC has a stronger religious element but that may have changed. |
| Georgetown>>>BC. |
Any true Catholics would choose to attend Villanova. |
Wut? Georgetown isn’t in Foggy Bottom and BC isn’t on Newbury St. |
