Oh, they "anticipate!" It will definitely happen then
|
The way you guys treat teachers, and act like teachers closed the schools, and saying things like this, it’s a wonder why nobody wants to be a teacher anymore. Combine that with the behavior and attitudes of some of the kids and you can see what a problem that is. Yeah, just quit paying them. And then you REALLY won’t have anyone to watch I mean teach your kids so you can go to work. |
People really will blame teachers for everything, huh? |
School grounds have been open all along. Why should tomorrow be any different? Sports are always top priority, don't you know? FCPS is incompetent! |
Are you crazy? How’s it the fault of teachers? I am a FCPS parent but it’s just a difficult situation. Shame on you for saying nasty stuff about teachers. |
All the credit and none of the blame huh |
Not really. Last Wednesday was a planned early release, due to the end of the quarter. Last Thursday and Friday were planned teacher workdays, also due to the end of the quarter, so all staff worked on those days. Snow or not, kids would not have been in school last Wednesday afternoon, Thursday or Friday. |
They can’t. There is a contract! 🤣🤣🤣 |
Looking at the teacher comments on the other thread, I think that’s actually why no one cares that people don’t want to be teachers. Astonishing entitlement. |
Then use the contract hours. Teacher should come in and do the planning/training that leads to the early release days in elementary school. Those days can then be canceled. Teachers who do not have planning or training to do can help remove snow. Then they will be fulfilling their contract and certainly earning their money. |
HS teacher here. I'm planning on sitting on my couch having the staff feed me chocolate covered strawberries as I bask in my gluttony. /s |

The notice says that SACC is open tomorrow- dumb question but is that for all locations?
We only do morning SACC at our school, so can I just drop my kid off for the day? Where do we find more info on this? I don’t see anything on the SACC website. |
Becsuse people drive their kids to sports. They don’t have to walk on unplowed sidewalks and stand in non existent bus stops? Albeit, I cannot see how different it will be on Tuesday or Wednesday until mid afternoon, when temps are predicted to rise a bit. Anyway, I’m happy and ready for s 2 hours delay on Tuesday. |
I haven't seen any of them out shoveing. |
| Walkers can't safely get to school given sidewalks still not shoveled. Not to mention walls of ice left by snowplows, making bus stops difficult and dangerous to access. I've seen adults needing to walk in the streets with cars whizzing by. Don't know when this situation will change. |
