I get as many deliveries as possible from Amazon (don't bundle, screw CO2) let those delivery people get paid. LOL

Wow, you're just so ignorant.

It's neighbors, plural. And maybe they can't but either way who cares? They didn't FORCE someone to deliver Starbucks to them, they ordered it and it came.

What’s rude about placing a delivery order? And what does the weather have to do with it?

Life continues, OP, even when it's cold. I am fine with school closings, and I urge everyone to be careful outside, but some people LIKE this weather, including me. The delivery person on a bike is probably OK with this.

Me again - however, I would never order a HOT drink to be delivered in this weather!

He went to the wrong house and placed it in the snow as he was finishing the delivery on his app. So I got out there and helped him get it to the right place. ( he was delivering to a very old man who like's McDonald's coffee and has never ordered anything delivered except for mail.

Wait, first it was Starbucks now it’s McDonalds? And it’s an elderly man who absolutely should not be driving in icy conditions?

I call troll.

Also, DoorDash is gig economy. People choose their own hours, they aren’t scheduled. So if he didn’t want to deliver in the cold, he just wouldn’t have taken any gigs. But, that’s if this story is even true, which I doubt it is.

OP said it was an elderly neighbor unused to meal deliveries. Maybe the coffee machine broke and while he's waiting for a replacement, he thought he'd order coffee, unaware that most food orders aren't protected from the elements in any way. The coffee must have been stone cold and he's learned that lesson!

Can you get out? You should drive your very old neighbor out to get a coffee. That's pretty sad that it's the one thing he wants and likes and he's got no way now to get out and get it.

You don't need to be "used to meal deliveries" to put together that a hot beverage is not going to stay hot long enough to have it delivered. Not to mention what he must have paid for that cup of coffee! If my coffee maker died and I hadn't gotten the replacement yet, I'd just drink tea. Or juice. Or whatever. I wouldn't order delivery coffee.

Remember when Texas had that huge freeze in like 2021? This woman I followed on Twitter mentioned that she had DoorDashed Starbucks. I was kind of appalled - roads were impassable, everything covered in ice and she's asking someone else to bring her a coffee?

That's terrible!!!! That takes a lot of nerve to be such a huge jerk to do that to someone for a cup of coffee. How lazy that they can't make their own.

I love how you think this makes someone lazy when anybody that goes to Starbucks ever is being lazy. How easy is it to make coffee at home?

I really feel sorry for the delivery guy. Your neighbors a jerk and that's being really nice.
