I would certainly hope so. It's ridiculous. Even just as a post here. |

It drives me crazy when DH asks the server what they recommend. I don’t know these people and don’t trust their taste!
Once he asked and the waitress admitted she had a “pretty bland palate” and only liked fries. We all laughed. |
| Management makes them say it. |

No server wants to stand there and explain the menu. They wished you didn't ask any questions or make changes. Just say 'yes' and everyone is happy.
I dislike extra napkins and straws. This happens in restaurants with endless refills and eating with hands. |
That's NOT nice. Nice is being quick with the drinks. Nice is getting our orders right. Nice is not taking away from our time together to tell us something we already know. |
I would never go to a sit-down restaurant a second time if the first time I had to use a screen to order. This isn't Olive Garden. |
What restaurant with completely expected service is asking you this? I get it if it’s tapas or family style etc… |
Why would it drive you crazy - your husband asking for recommendations you aren’t obligated to order or even consider? This drives you crazy? |
NP. It's just stupid - they will just suggest whatever is old and needs to be used up, or whatever is most expensive. |
Yes some places do this. If a person at the table cant read the room, this would not drive me crazy. I’m not eating it; I don’t care. |
Agree! Your post made me laugh OP. And then they ask about allergies....which if someone had one, they would bring it up. |
Dang next time just get a private chef and tableside service. You are a GUEST at a restaurant, and you are expected to be pleasant and polite. If you can't muster the minimum conversation with a waiter, GTFO |

I'm not a GUEST at a restaurant. I'm a paying customer. I'm a guest in someone's home. I don't need to spend five minutes having someone explain how all the steak is in this section of the menu and right below it where it says you can add on a lobster tail? Yes, you can add on a lobster tail. Thanks, but I can read all of this in 30 seconds, and I'd rather spend the time with the person/people I'm dining with. |
Again, if you cannot be a decent person to another human for a few minutes, you need to stay at home, ma'am |
