It drives me crazy when DH asks the server what they recommend. I don’t know these people and don’t trust their taste!

Once he asked and the waitress admitted she had a “pretty bland palate” and only liked fries. We all laughed.

No server wants to stand there and explain the menu. They wished you didn't ask any questions or make changes. Just say 'yes' and everyone is happy.
I dislike extra napkins and straws.This happens in restaurants with endless refills and eating with hands.

Why would it drive you crazy - your husband asking for recommendations you aren’t obligated to order or even consider?

NP. It's just stupid - they will just suggest whatever is old and needs to be used up, or whatever is most expensive.

Yes some places do this. If a person at the table cant read the room, this would not drive me crazy. I’m not eating it; I don’t care.

I'm not a GUEST at a restaurant. I'm a paying customer. I'm a guest in someone's home. I don't need to spend five minutes having someone explain how all the steak is in this section of the menu and right below it where it says you can add on a lobster tail? Yes, you can add on a lobster tail. Thanks, but I can read all of this in 30 seconds, and I'd rather spend the time with the person/people I'm dining with.
