Oh, I love it! I’m obsessed with Billy Bob’s character and Billy Bob himself.

So excited it is renewed for season three and love everything about the show. There is a really funny guy on reels who just hate watches the show. I get why people might have a love-hate relationship with it but I just love it and think it’s so good.

The scene between Ainsley and the roommate was a microcosm of society. I bet they keep that thread going.

NP. I haven't watched this yet (but plan to). Could you explain what you mean here?

It’s about oilmen in Texas.

And it's not woke.

It is a little though. Spoiler alert for those who haven’t finished the season

I think you might be talking about the fact that the Aynsley character pushes back on the trans character and her use of pronouns. And they paint the trans character as being really terrible and intolerant.

But then in the next episode, they are totally redeemed and they become friends and decide to room together after all.

So I think they did a good job with that storyline and it’s interesting that a lot of people were celebrating how terrible the character was in that one episode but I haven’t seen how people responded to the follow up episode.

Just FYI. Not much is. Friends did not accurately portray NYC in the 90s for a group of 20-somethings. Etc., etc., etc.

Oh, I realize this. I was just giving my perspective as someone from there and very strong ties still. It’s just too ridiculous for me to watch, especially the wife and daughter. And yes, I’m sure I’m taking it too seriously. I’ve watched one other Taylor Sheridan series, and also disliked that (1883.)

I tried watching Yellowstone and couldn’t get through the first episode. Kevin Costner is just not compelling to me, though I liked some of his past work.

Billy Bob on the other hand is brilliant.

The daughter and the mom are insufferable. The only redeeming thing is that they are not portrayed as mean girls. They care for others despite also being selfish, immature, and materialistic.

Kudos to the actresses for making me like them even a little bit!

Used properly, the characters can be meaningful, giving depth to the relationships with Billy Bob's character and showing how personal life issues clash with professional.

I watched the first 5 episodes of season 1 and couldn't stomach it anymore. It's quite ridiculous.

Would you be so kind as to name a single television series that isn't quite ridiculous?

Demi Moore is a robot. She can't even cry with any emotion. When she talks I feel like I'm watching a middle school play ( if the kids all had frozen botox faces) I can't tell if she is mad or powerful or sad or scared or any thing. Her expression never changes. She is awful.

I watched the first episode because of this thread and it was so dumb. Am I missing something?

I guess I am a third poster from Midland and I've heard its popular there. I plan to watch it soon but I don't have paramount so I'm going to buy it from some other service when I have time to binge. I love Thornton and Moore so I'm looking forward to it.

Did you like her in The Substance?
