Because neither you, or any of the other posters with the same line of reasoning, have ever eaten a cookie, candy or "gasp". . . . a fruit bowl.
If you're going to jump in on the debate, bring something solid to the table.

DOLE Fruit Crisps are satisfying bowls of juicy DOLE fruit in a fruit sauce, each with its own crispy, crumbly topping made with whole grain oats and brown sugar. When you are ready to enjoy, simply peel back the lid and sprinkle the topping over the fruit!

Packed in convenient clear cups with easy-to-open, peel-off lids, DOLE Fruit Crisps are a convenient anytime snack.

MMMMMMMM....fruit with sugar on it!

I eat apples from our local orchard.

I also try to avoid anything made in China, but that eliminates 90% of all items.

sad but true

can't live in fear

HOw much HFCS is in that fruit sauce and crumbly topping?

whole foods frozen organic asparagus is from China as well

Lots and lots of apple juice is from china, even "organic" stuff. and after the drywall, jewelery, infant formula, etc. incidents, it's amazing to me that we as consumers put up with this sh**.

We really need stricter food laws. The food lobbyists are so powerful. I believe every food item should have to say where it is from: grown, processed, & packaged. That includes fresh produce, meat, fish, poultry, dairy products and packaged goods. The average person does not know the food labeling laws and wouldn't know to look on packages, or where to look.

Nearly all of the frozen (organic) foods from Whole Foods are from China.

18:43 above.

You should be far more concerned about the processed crap than you are about the food from China. If you avoid a), it is much much easier to then avoid b).

17:06 here - Clearly not something I would be likely to eat, or to serve.

How about just eating an apple?

Just make sure it's from your backyard to avoid the pesticide ones at the store!

Actually, I wasn't thinking so much about pesticides (although I try to buy local apples, which taste better because they weren't grown to ship, but to eat quickly), as the fact that I can't understand ruining a perfectly fine "fruit experience" by dousing it with sugar, or eating an out-of-season one during the local season.

Really? You women have never had apple crisp? I'm stunned that the idea of a fruit dessert is so shocking. I get the processed thing, but many people are acting as if they have never heard of a fruit dessert with sugar. how ridiculous!

Someone is eating all of those fruit tarts at Whole Foods. you've never had apple pie or strawberry shortcake?

You folks are so overboard in your criticism that it's comical.
